Dave Lo Piccolo

 In Loving Memory

David Lo Piccolo

Dave was only 27 years old when he passed away last week. I knew him from when I lived in New York, he went to my church. He was such a sweet guy and its just hard to imagine that he's gone. He had been struggling with a rare disease that for 8 weeks kept him in and out of the ICU with multiple surgeries.

His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

its been a while

I know, its been a looong time, sorry! Let's seee. Alot has happened. I won't get into details, but what's new is this:

-I don't live with my parent's anymore.

-IM ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!! (It happened over Memorial Day weekend!)

-We set a date, April 28th. =D

-Im working.

So latley, between work, Ive been starting to plan for this wedding. (Im SO excited, by the way) I was looking at dresses online today and came across this one:

Why on earth would anyone want to look like they have a giant cupcake wrapper wrapped around their waist? I have no clue.

Me and Tristan went looking at the beach house we want to get married at yesterday. It's out on Edisto Island. If I ever get the chance to write some more about all this in an entry, I will. Who knows if I'll have time!

hola!

Hey guys!

Is this gorgeous weather or what?! I got a tan the other day!! I've been kinda busy. But not too busy. Im still involved in a couple of bible studies- which have been great. My mom has been sick all week, so I've been playing Martha Stewart and maid. No fun. Last night was awesome though. Tristan and I went out with Tracy and Robin. First we went ring "browsing, looking, shopping". Yes, as in engagement ring. [Insert crazy excitement here.]  We went to Colucci's first b/c Tracy is friends with the owner. While we were there Tracy got a call from his mother who was babysitting Micah and Owen to say that Owen had gotten his head stuck in the rocking chair! So Tracy went back and got him out while we were still at Colucci's. Haha...  Then we went to the mall to look at some more because Colucci's didnt have a lot of what we wanted to see in stock. It really was a lot of fun. After all that, we were starving (or atleast I was). We went to Fonduely Yours. If you've never been there, Im not going to try to explain it anymore than this: You sit around a table making fondue. Really good fondue. Other than the fact that it was expensive and I got a little bit of a stomach ache, it was really, really good. And now that Im thinking about food- Im hungry. And Im sooo in the mood for Moe's.

Im getting food. BYE!!

...

I've been pretty good latley. The week is getting off to an okay start. RIght now Im watching David and Vic for my parents b/c they're at some Real Estate seminar in Charleston, so Im a little bored. My boy is busy, so I cant be talking to him. :/

Lemmie catch you up on a few things:

Recently I started a small makeup business. I couldnt come up with a catchy name for it like other makeup artists, so its just Makeup by Cassie. I already have a trial session and wedding booked and Im in the process of booking others. So we'll see how this goes. Im still selling Mark, but right now the customers are few.

I've been involved in a couple of bible studies. Really good ones. Thanks to Tristan's pushing me to do them, Im getting a lot out of em.

In September Im going to NY and NJ for my cousin's wedding. I'll be a bridesmaid. I just saw the dress today. The best part of that trip will be that Tristan is coming with me!  I'll get to show him around good ol' NY.

Here's a pic of the newest member of our family, Bailey! He's the cutest little beagle everrrr!!!

While being bored here at the computer, I found this-

THE LONGEST WORD

It all depends on your point of view, but here goes:

Officially the longest word is 'floccinaucinihilipilification' at 29 characters, meaning 'the act of estimating as worthless'.

Then there's 'antidisestablishmentarianism' at 28 letters, meaning 'opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England'. It is often considered the longest word as it has an actual meaning instead of being created just to be long.

Unofficially the longest word is 'pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis' at 45 characters, meaning 'a lung disease'. It was created solely for the purpose of being the longest word, however, it does appear in a few dictionaries.

The longest place name is that of a hill in New Zeland at 85 characters:

TAUMATAWHAKATANGIHANGAKOAUAUOTAMATEATURIPU
KAKAPIKIMAUNGAHORONUKUPOKAIWHENUAKITANATAHU

The word with the most letters is a name of protein, as a name, it technically does not qualify as a word, but at 1913 characters, we just had to include it. Theoretically these names can contain an infinite amount of characters, but this one qualifies as it has actually been used in a medical journal.

wow

Back in 1985, hard drives were gigantic and not to mention insanely expensive (40MB/$40,000) as shown in the above image. That was coincidentally the same year Microsoft released Windows 1.0 which sold for $100 ($177.47 with inflation) a piece. I like how the display behind it has a huge magnifying glass that almost makes you think hard drives now days (2006) are microscopic which they really aren’t…yet.

Who actually bought a hard drive for that much? You could buy a nice car for that much!

killer biscuits

Arizona was awesome, New Years was great too. Im gonna eventually get a page up with all the pics from it and talk about the trip then. Im too lazy right now. :)

Tristan emailed this to me, I thought it was FUNNY. Mythbusters had actually done an episode on this and said it was plausible....
